Made from pure clay mined in Germany, Seramis is a high quality growing medium suitable for use in drip re-circulating hydroponic systems and passive hydroculture.
Its main features include:
- Inert, pH neutral and naturally disease resistant
- When used in hydroponics systems cannot be overwatered
- Does not break down, can be cleaned and reused many times
- Very strong capillary action
- Increased nutrient uptake, plants respond to changes in nutrient formulation immediately
Seramis produce a nutrient suitable for use with houseplants, for all other plants we recommend General Hydroponics Floraseries range. General guidelines for growing in hydroponics are:-
Establish plant in propagation substrate of your choice, then place the plant in a suitable amount of Seramis growing medium - as a rough guideline we tend to recommend around 10-15 litres per plant, the longer the life of the plant the more medium you should use. Seramis performs best in constantly fed drip re-circulating systems, in this type of system its impossible to overwater so the pump can and should be run constantly. In the early stages, however, you may wish to hold back on watering slightly for plants that have been established in Rockwool or a similar type of growing substrate, until the plant has put down a good root system into the Seramis itself.
At first glance Seramis looks expensive, but its simply a case of getting what you pay for. Its already a huge seller in Germany and Holland - its now started to get very good traction in the UK market with several leading retailers stocking it.

Delivery Information
Most orders are shipped within 24 hours.
Orders are currently shipped with Parcelforce (Express 24 service for standard and heavy/bulky items) or DPD Local (Premium next-day), a signature will be required on delivery. We have been shipping orders for 15 years and our courier choices are subject to change as service levels fluctuate.
All orders are shipped on a next day courier service – you will be informed via email or SMS the evening your order leaves us so you know to expect it the next day. On the morning of delivery you will get another SMS or email informing you of the expected delivery time.

As the website calculates some charges by weight it is possible that shipping is not calculated correctly. We reserve the right to get in touch in these circumstances we will request the additional amount or offer to refund the order.
UK Delivery
Standard delivery to the UK Mainland addresses (excluding Scottish Highlands & Islands, offshore and N.I.) is charged at a flat rate of just £5.95 per order or £7.95 (for the premium next-day service), standard delivery (with Parcelforce) is free* for orders over £50.
*Large and/or heavy items attact a surcharge from our courier - shipping surcharges are calculated per item and are applied regardless of order value.
Non-UK mainland destinations are charged by weight.

Collect in Store (Bristol)
We now offer a 'collect in store' option, which allows you to pay for goods online and collect from our Bristol store at time that suits you (within our opening hours).
The process is simple:
- place your order and pay online, select 'Pick Up' at checkout;
- receive an email confirming that the order is ready for collection;
- bring/show your confirmation email and photo ID to collect your order.
