How Autopot works
Each pot sits in a tray fed from the tank by the AquaValve. When the tray runs dry the valve opens and refills it to a set level; the plant draws the water up through the medium and the valve refills it again. The plant decides how much it drinks, there is no run-off and nothing to switch on, and a full tank lasts days.
Setting one up
Use a free-draining medium: coco with perlite, or a 60/40 clay pebble and coco mix. Hand water for the first two weeks until the roots reach the base, then connect the valve. Feed at a lower EC than you would by hand, because nothing is ever flushed through. The 15 litre pot suits a normal indoor cycle; the XL system uses 25 litre pots for bigger plants, and FlexiPot systems use fabric pots. Spares and extras are under Autopot Accessories.
