About Premium Soils
Light mix or all mix?
A light mix such as Biobizz Light Mix or Plagron Light Mix is only lightly pre-fertilised, so you control the feeding from the start. It suits seedlings, cuttings and growers who like to run their own nutrient schedule.
An all mix such as Biobizz All Mix, Plagron Batmix or Gold Label Special Mix carries enough food for the first few weeks, so you water only until the plants have used it up. Batmix gets its charge from bat guano.
Canna Terra Professional sits in between: a peat-based mix with perlite and a moderate pre-feed, made to go with the Canna Terra nutrients. Professional Plus is the richer version.
Getting the best from soil
Don't let soil dry out completely between waterings, and don't feed a fresh all mix in the first weeks. Check pH: soil feeds best at about 6.0 to 6.5. If plants look hungry late in a cycle, top-dress with worm humus or Pre-Mix from our Soil Amendments section rather than pushing the liquid feed up.
