About Environment and Fan Speed Controllers

Which controller?

A Variispeed is the simplest: a dial that turns an AC fan down. The SMSCOM Smart Controller holds a set temperature by speeding the fan up and down, with a minimum speed so the room never stops breathing; the SMSCOM Twin does the same for an intake and an extractor together. G.A.S controllers are the step up: the EC5 and Enviro4 run EC fans on temperature and humidity, and the AC-EC controller runs either type. The Rhino 1EC pairs with Rhino Ultra EC fans. Day and Night controllers switch heaters, humidifiers or dehumidifiers to different settings for lights-on and lights-off.

AC or EC?

AC fans hum when turned down on a cheap controller; a Smart Controller minimises it. EC fans turn down silently and are made to work with these controllers, which is why most new rooms go EC.
