About PK Boosters
What a PK booster does
Phosphorus and potassium drive flower and fruit development. A booster is used for a short window in mid to late flowering, typically about a week, alongside a reduced base feed. Used too early or for too long it does more harm than good, so follow the chart for your range.
Which one?
PK 13/14 from Canna, Hesi, House & Garden, Intense, Plant Magic and Essentials is the classic one-week boost. PK 9/18 from Buddhas Tree and Plant Magic Platinum leans further towards potassium and is run over a longer stretch. House & Garden Shooting Powder and Top Shooter go in during the final weeks. Advanced Nutrients Overdrive and Green Planet Bud Booster are late-bloom boosters as well.
Keep an eye on EC: a booster adds to the strength of the tank, which is why most charts drop the base feed while it is in. If you use a pH pen, check after adding a booster, because PK products pull the pH down.
