About Grow Tents

Which size?

Pick the tent to fit the space, then the light to fit the tent. 60x60 and 80x80 tents suit one or two plants under a 150 to 300W LED; 100x100 and 120x120 are the most popular sizes, for four plants under a 360 to 720W light; 120x240 and 240x240 take two or four lights. Check the height too: most are 200cm, with shorter 120 to 160cm options for cupboards, and the Budbox Pro Roof range is built for sloping ceilings. Lite or Pro?

Budbox Lite tents are the value range: a lighter frame, decent fabric and all the ports you need. Budbox Pro tents have a heavier frame that carries big lights and filters and thicker fabric. Secret Jardin's Hydro Shoot is their entry level, Dark Street the mid range and Dark Room the premium tent. AC Infinity Cloudlab tents pair with the Cloudline fans and controllers.

Kits

Grow tent kits take the guesswork out: a tent with a light and extraction sized to match, from 1m x 1m to 2.4m x 2.4m, plus soil and coco pot-and-nutrient bundles for 4, 8 or 16 plants.

What goes in a grow tent?

A light sized to the floor area (LED grow lights for most growers), an inline fan and carbon filter to pull warm air out and keep the smell in, ducting to the window or loft, a hygrometer so you can see what the plants feel, and the pots or system the plants grow in. How many plants fit in a grow tent?

In soil or coco pots, allow roughly 30 to 40cm each way per plant once it is grown: one or two in a 60x60, four in a 100x100 or 120x120, eight in a 120x240 and sixteen in a 240x240. Trained or topped plants take more room each but fill the light better. Hydroponic systems come in fixed pot counts, so pick the tent to fit the system: a 4-pot Autopot or 6-pot flood and drain suits a 120x120.

Which grow tent is best?

For a first tent, a Budbox Lite 100x100 or 120x120 with a 360 to 720W LED kit is the combination we sell most and the one that goes wrong least. Growers running bigger lights, heavy filters or a tent that will be up for years step up to Budbox Pro or Secret Jardin Dark Room for the frame and the fabric.
