About CalMag Additives
Who needs CalMag
Coco holds on to calcium and magnesium and gives the plant potassium instead, so coco growers add CalMag from the start. Reverse osmosis and soft water carry none of either, so a CalMag brings the water back to a sensible baseline before the feed goes in. Plants under LED run cooler and drink less, and often show magnesium shortage as yellowing between the veins on older leaves; a CalMag corrects it.
Using it
Add CalMag to the water before the base feed, at the dose for your water type. Bristol's hard tap water already carries calcium, so growers on tap water need less than the label suggests, or a magnesium-only product. Canna's single-element Mono products are under Other Additives.
