About Scissors
Why Chikamasa
The blades are thin, hard and sharp, so they cut cleanly instead of crushing, and they stay sharp through a whole harvest. The spring-loaded handles open themselves, which saves your hand over hours of trimming. The B-600H has a fluorine-coated blade that resin doesn't stick to; the T-552 is the straight-bladed favourite for detail work. The PST-8 shears take pruning and harvesting cuts through woody stems.
Looking after them
Wipe the blades with rubbing alcohol as resin builds up, oil the pivot now and then, and keep them for plants only. A clean blade is also a disease-free one: sterilise between plants when taking cuttings.
