Description
Athena CaMg is an additive designed to accompany the rest of their range, for conditions where an increase in calcium, magnesium, iron, and nitrogen is needed.
- Effectively corrects these common micronutrient deficiencies
- Can be used throughout the whole plant lifecycle
- Particularly effective when using RO water, coco and Rockwool
Systems using reverse osmosis (RO) water, and inert media, such as coco or rockwool will require an increase to maintain optimal levels.
See FAQs (below) for common, tell-tale signs of nutrient deficiency.
How to use:
- Use 0.5-1.0ml per litre during all stages, when needed.
- Compatible with other fertilizer brands.
- For buffering R.O. water we recommend bringing the EC up to around 0.3 or 0.4 before adding any other products.
- Please refer to the feed schedule for more information (see downloads below).
Best Practices:
- Shake well before use.
- Use clean measuring instruments - do not put anything into the bottle.
- Some applications may require different dosages.
- Recommended for hydroponic use, especially with inert media and when using reverse osmosis (RO) water.
- Monitor EC regularly and adjust accordingly based on crop and growth stage.
- Adjust to pH to proper levels after mixing all fertilizers and additives.
- Store closed in original packaging at a temperature between 45°F and 85°F.
Composition: NPK 2-0-0
Nitrate nitrogen (N) 2%, calcium (Ca) 2.1%, water-soluble magnesium (Mg) 1.1%, chelated iron (Fe) 0.06%
Despite the Athena brand being relatively new to the UK market, initial feedback from our customers is very positive, across the whole range. A good product that will help to prevent your plants from developing harmful elemental deficiencies. Recommended.

How to use
Shake the bottle and use a clean measure. Athena's label rate is 0.5 to 1 ml per litre, at any stage, when the plants need it. Their Blended feed chart gives 8 to 13 ml per 10 litres through veg and up to flower week 7.
- RO water: add CaMg first, to bring the EC up to around 0.3 or 0.4, before any other product.
- Then mix in the rest of the feed, such as Athena Grow or Athena Bloom, and set the pH last, after everything is in.
- It also works with other brands of fertiliser.
The full programme is in the Athena feed chart. Check the EC regularly with a pH and EC meter.
Questions
When do I need Athena CaMg?
Mostly with RO water and inert media such as coco or rockwool, which carry little calcium and magnesium. It can be used at any stage of growth.
How do I use it with RO water?
Add CaMg first, to bring the EC up to around 0.3 or 0.4, before adding any other product. Set the pH after everything is mixed.
Can I use it with another brand?
Yes. Athena say it is compatible with other fertiliser brands.
