About Fabric Pots
Why fabric?
In a plastic pot the roots hit the wall and circle. In a fabric pot the root tip dries as it reaches the fabric and the plant branches instead, so the whole volume fills with fine feeding roots. The fabric also breathes, so the medium holds more air and excess water leaves through the sides as well as the base.
The trade-off is that fabric pots dry out faster, so water more often or use a self-watering system: the Autopot FlexiPot modules feed a fabric pot from a tank through an AquaValve with no pump or timer.
Sizes and care
Use one size larger than you would in plastic, because the roots use the full volume. Fabric pots fold flat for storage and go through a wash between crops. Stand them on a tray or saucer, because they weep.
