These liquid pH testers are a very economical way to monitor the pH level of your nutrient solution. Each kit consists of 20ml of reagent, a small phial and a colour chart to translate your result into a pH value. Two pH ranges are available: 5.6 - 7.4 and 4.0 - 8.5.

Questions
Which range should I choose?
The narrow kit reads pH 5.6 to 7.4 and the wide kit reads pH 4.0 to 8.5. The narrow range covers what most nutrient solutions are kept at; the wide one covers stronger acids and alkalis too.
Is a liquid kit as good as a pH pen?
It is the economical way to check pH. A pen gives a number to one decimal place but needs weekly calibration; a liquid kit needs nothing but the reagent.
