Description
An ideal introduction to hydroponics, the GT205i NFT Grotank is a well-designed, easy to use system that is a convenient size for smaller grow tents and rooms.
The Nutrient Film Technique utilises a nutrient tank with a tray on top fed by a pump to create a constant flow of nutrient solution for plants. The bare roots then have access to the highly oxygenated water allowing for faster growth.
The GT205i NFT Grotank is a great starter kit that holds 20 litres of nutrient solution when full and measures 70cm long x 39cm wide x 19cm high. It comes complete with tank, top tray, silver Correx top plate, spreader mat, pump and PH test kit.

How to use
In an NFT system a pump lifts nutrient solution from the tank to the tray above, where it runs in a thin film over the bare roots and drains back into the tank. The roots sit in the flow with plenty of air around them.
- Lay the spreader mat in the tray so the solution spreads evenly.
- Fill the tank with nutrient solution and check the pH with the test kit.
- Fit the Correx top plate and set the plants through the holes.
- Run the pump all the time.
Top up and change the solution regularly; a pH and EC meter makes checking easier. More on hydroponics and all NFT systems.
