About Lighting Controllers and Accessories
Timers and contactors
A single LED or a 600W lamp on a standard socket can run from a plug-in timer such as the Optimum or the Time-R. Anything more needs a contactor: the timer sends a small signal and the contactor's relay switches the heavy load, so the timer never burns out. Maxiswitch 2-way, 4-way and 6-way contactors and the Loadstar 8-way run several lamps from one timer; the 12+2 and 16+2 contactor boards run a whole room.
LED controllers
The Maxibright Daylight controller runs Daylight PRO fixtures together: one schedule, sunrise and sunset dimming, and a temperature sensor that dims the lights if the room runs hot. The Varidrive controller does the same for Varidrive fixtures, and the Dimlux Maxi controller for Dimlux. Link cables daisy-chain the fixtures.
Accessories
Easy-Rolls hang a light and let you adjust the height with a pull. The Maxibright PAR meter measures the light actually reaching the canopy, which is the number that matters. PAR and PPFD are explained in LED grow light wattage by tent size.

- LED or HPS? Why the Best Growers Use BothTom's view from twenty years in the shop: run LED as the main light and add a dimmable HPS, metal halide or CMH for flowering weeks 3-7 for a better finish.
