Description
Powerplant Metal Halide lamps are one of the few known brands still producing MH lamps in 250W, 400W and 1000W for the horticultural market.
Using MH lamps in veg as opposed to Dual Spectrum lamps throughout the plants life results in healthier plants early-on and shorter internodal length corresponding to increased yields come harvest. Always remember to switch to a Sodium lamp (pure red or DS) for fruiting or flowering plants when the time comes!
These are also the lamp of choice for adding extra blue spectrum to a lighting setup that contains mostly sodium lamps - adding around one halide lamp to every two sodium lamps dramatically increases overall plant health and is generally considered by most experienced growers as the optimum lighting mix.
***Please retain original packaging for your lamps to validate the 12-month warranty***

How to use
Use a metal halide lamp during the vegetative stage for healthier young plants with shorter gaps between the leaf nodes. Switch to a sodium lamp (pure red or dual spectrum) for flowering or fruiting.
In a room lit mainly with sodium lamps, adding about one metal halide lamp to every two sodium lamps adds blue light and improves overall plant health.
Keep the box for the warranty. More lamps are in HID lighting.
Questions
Why use metal halide rather than dual spectrum in veg?
Plants grow healthier early on, with shorter internodes, which leads to better harvests later.
Can I mix metal halide and sodium lamps?
Yes. About one metal halide lamp to every two sodium lamps is the mix most experienced growers favour.
