How to use
Use a new scalpel each time you take a batch of cuttings, so you do not carry disease from one plant to the next. Make one clean cut, without crushing the stem, then dip the cut end in a rooting gel such as Clonex straight away.
The box of 10 is the better buy if you take cuttings regularly.
Questions
Why use a scalpel rather than scissors for cuttings?
A scalpel makes a clean, precise cut with less damage to the stem tissue, which gives the cutting a better chance of rooting.
Can I reuse a scalpel?
They are sterile and disposable. For cuttings, use a fresh one each time to avoid spreading disease.
