Description

Offering an alternative to jubilee clips, Heavy Duty Cable Ties are also well suited to securing wires and flex to keep your growing area tidy.

While you can use these in place of jubilee clips, it is worth noting that you wont get quite as good a seal if you use cable ties on their own.

If you are using acoustic ducting then we recommend using a jubilee clip to secure the inner core of the ducting and then pulling the glass fibre and outer layer over the top and securing that with a cable tie.

Heavy Duty Cable Ties are available in small or large - Small covers ducting up to 200mm/8 in diameter and Large covers all the way up to the 315mm/12 in diameter.

How to use

Cable ties can stand in for ducting jubilee clips, but on their own they do not seal quite as well as a clip.

With acoustic ducting, fit it in two stages:

  1. Secure the inner core to the fan or fitting with a jubilee clip.
  2. Pull the glass fibre and outer layer back over the top and hold them with a cable tie.

Questions

Which size do I need?

Small covers ducting up to 200 mm (8 inch) across. Large goes up to 315 mm (12 inch).

Can I use cable ties instead of jubilee clips?

You can, but you will not get quite as good a seal as with a jubilee clip. On acoustic ducting, clip the inner core and use a tie on the outer layer.
